Spoiled Candy Cane

LOVE IT? AGAIN?

Red angel plates are amazingpsychodelicozz

This colour looks too yellow in this picture.

It is actually like a 'light' granny smith apple colour.

Awesome.

I used: OPI Did it on Em
Special red polish

I bought 3 polishes from the OPI Nicki Minaj collection. I like.

Good Morning Ocean

Did this one in the style of one of my recent manis, see here

I'm beginning to really like this style even though it is a little more troublesome than usual.

And if i can find those paper punch hole reinforcement stickers instead of plastic stickers.
Plastic stickers are more rigid and don't stick completely at the sides.
Might have to dig through Daiso for that one.

I used:
Base: Essie Blanc
Arc: OPI Skull and Glossbones
Special blue polish

After I was done with the mani,

I realised

HEY!

It reminds me of Good Morning towels!

Its a very famous brand of towel in the 70s 80s 90s Singapore/Malaysia/China.

The mani also reminded me of Japanese seafood brand logos.

For some reason there's always a lot of blue and white.

Well Hello There

Isn't this awesome bananas!

I used:
Base: Essie Capri
Grey: Deborah Lippmann Waking Up in Vegas
Special black polish

Method:
1. Paint base, seche vite, wait dry
2. Paste hole puncher reinforcement stickers at nail bed, paint 2nd colour over, seche vite, wait dry
(don't remove sticker yet)
3. Stamp over 2nd colour, remove any special polish that got onto base with cotton bud
(don't rub too hard, gentle!)
4. Remove sticker, clean sides, seche vite

TADA!

I actually did this one pretty quickly, and it seems to be a hit with everyone.

I personally like the colour combi quite a lot.
The stamping is just icing on the cake.

Fly Me to Hong Kong

I really do like Hong Kong,
the temperature around this time of the year is just right for me
about 15-16 degrees, chilly but tolerable.

I used: OPI Designer De Better, Special Dark Blue polish

I only went to Hong Kong's Dolphin Lagoon once, when I was very very young.

But was feeling aquatic enough to do this one.

I used: Etude House BL 502, special dark green polish
The breakfast pancakes they serve at HK Intercontinental is indeed world famous.

My uncle's friend who works for Intercon recommended it, so of course she knows what she's talking about.

The butter is home-made, definately won't be able to find it in the supermart...

it's looks like solid ice cream but taste like butter minus the greasiness plus the creaminess.

Heavenly.

But pancakes had nothing to do with this manicure
other than the fact that I took this pic while waiting for it to arrive.

I used: Faceshop PK 101

I must say... this range of Faceshop polishes are extremely beautiful!

Its like coloured aluminium foil, SO SHINY.

Nude

i really like this one (realise i say it a lot).

The idea was to have it look like a mannequin's hand. So far not bad right?

I managed to find a colour that after being matted, looks QUITE like my skin colour.

LOVE.

I used:
Essie Brooch The Subject
Special black and dark pink polish

In some ways its grotesque! Nice but so weird all at once.

Ah. So shiny.

You know this polish costs like S$38 and seems to be only sold at some beauty school near Bukit Timah.

Thats madness!

Fortunately we have the internet,
but because this particular shade of the holo series is SO POPULAR...

I still ended up paying 38 bucks online.
At least I don't have to drive down and buy it.

If you are not a fan girl or someone who remotely goes to the cinema,
this is a decepticon logo, the bad robot guys in Transformers.

I did the nail tips with queen Amidala's lips (Star Wars anyone?) in mind.
Next time I will make it shorter so it resembles her lips more.

hah! I LOVE IT. SO SHINY THIS MANICURE.

I used:
SHINE-YYYYY base: NFU Oh Holo 61
Decepticon: Special black polish

Do Plums Fall From Trees?

I like this one.

Ok here's how it went:

I was supposed to do one layer, dry, tape, do 2nd layer, dry, tape.

Turns out i have no patience and the tape ruined the first layer because apparently it wasn't totally dried.

So after maybe 4 failed attempts i just decided to freehand swipe across my nail.

One thick layer swipe, 2nd thick layer swipe, etc. SV Topcoat and stamped on~!

I didn't want to do blending, this one was a deliberate colour graduation in stripes.

Took this one to my bf's NY Eve family party.

I used:
Starting from lightest pink -
Essie Petal Pink
OPI Heart Throb
Orly Cotton Candy
OPI Charged Up Cherry
Plum Blossom: Special black polish, plate on picture

I think this would be a nice twist for CNY nails too.

By the way I really like Orly series of bright cremes!
Like the cloud blue mani, and the yellow from the post before.
This pink is fab too.

Love ice cream on a hot day

Don't you like ice cream on a hot day?

This one looks like a lemon sherbet with a strawberry center.

I really like this too.

I used:
Yellow: Orly Spark
Pink Goop: OPI Charged up Cherry
Birds: OB plate 10
Tree: A plate 40

This one would actually look better without nail stamping too.
Then I would be able to do more 'goops'
With nail stamping its better to stick to waves like the index and ring finger.

By the way its tape work, i taped over the yellow area and painted pink on the tips.

I think this works with dotting too, I just didn't feel my hand was steady enough that day.

Awesome?

Space Invasion

You probably imagined some crazy shiny design.

Nope, not really, in fact HM mentioned that it reminds her of curtains.

But nonetheless I LOVE THIS!

The whirly things with ball tip reminds me of alien stuff.

I have a big soft spot for creamy pastel colours.

Anyway. It's not as crazy troublesome as it looks, just needs patience and time,
like something you do when the whole afternoon is yours and you're gonna watch a movie.

__________________________________________________

I used:
Green: Essie Mint Candy Apple
Blue: Orly Snowcone
Space alien design: Bundle Monster plate 20

Method:
1. Cut tape, some thinner some fatter, if you want uniform width go ahead.
2. Green on first, wait for it to COMPLETELY DRY.
3. Paste tape on nail, paint blue over. (One coat will usually do, unless you see bald areas)
4. Stamp on design and peel tape off immediately (no need to wait for polish to dry)
5. After about 3 mins, top coat away!

Like Boys

Did you know Comme des Garçons stands for like boys in French?

Their designs are super avant garde and weirdish in a good way.

I used:
Base: OPI Alpine Snow
Designs: OB plate 10, BM plate 2, Konad m17
special red and black polish

I love!

Chanel

I love this one, its very pretty at the same time its so vain.

HAHAH.

I especially love the bottom pinkie,

ohmygod doesn't it remind you of the black/white chanel stockings?

I used:
Base: China Glaze Black Leather
Designs: OB plate 1, 3, 9, special white polish

14 Dec 2011

Witching Hour

This is one of those manicures that are so simple but gets much of my love.

Especially the spider web, I think it is BLOODY COOL. :)

I used:
Base: China Glaze Black Leather
Spider & Web, Bats, Witch: Bundle Monster plate BM13
Skull: BM 225
Mansion: BM224
+ Special white polish

Clear Skies Ahead

ISN'T THIS LIKE SUPER AWESOME?

I LOVE IT.

In caps meaning a lot.

Its like wallpapers for my nails.

I realised from google images that many people use the blue/white combi...

WELL ITS PRETTY SO YEAH! Don't mess with stuff that works.

Its actually a little less 'shiny' in real life, the picture makes it look a little too bright.

This might look nice in matt... if i ever do secure a Chanel Mat Topcoat...

Its very creamy, my nails look like candy, i feel like eating them.

30 Nov 2011

SWIRLY GOODNESS!

I think this is kind of SUPER PSYCHEDELICOZZ

um yeah, my boyfriend mentioned its like candy.

I think so too! I feel happy when i look at this one.

Of course its ALOT OF WORK, as with water marbling stuff, the usual tape everything, alot of cleaning. etc.

I used:
Yellow: OPI It Colour
Red: China Glaze Poinsettia
Silver: China Glaze Icicle
Lavender: China Glaze Secret Periwinkle
White Base: OPI Alpine Snow

Murky Valentine

You know, this design is very... girly in the i-love-scrapbooking way.

I like it, a lot.

I think i went with this colour because this design felt like it worked well with a 'soft' approach?

Base: OPI Ginger Bells
Konad: plate M83, minty green polish

It looks like moldy chocolate milk, in the good way. Love.

SUPER AWESOME CHEVRON NAILS OMG?!

OMG.

This has got to be in my list of all time favorites.

I used a silver holo bling bling polish as the base, Konad R35 Ice Silver.
Got it from Gmarket, I love this colour, it is super shiny, with holo glitter.
Dries fast and smudges are not visible!

I would imagine this colour is good for cracks too, because of the super grainy surface!

OK sorry back on track, Konad-ed the chevron design over (plate M63).

I didn't think i would like it as much as i did before starting.

BUT OMG LOVEEEEEEEEEEEE~!
